Achieve a Bright and Stunning Smile
Having a bright, white smile can make you more attractive to others.
When a person has a white and confident smile, people tend to think of them in a more positive way – which can naturally attract more friends and connections. Besides the way others see you, you can also change the way you see yourself by having a whiter smile. You can become much more self-confident and outgoing. How do you get that bright, white smile? Our Toronto dentist can help you with any of several different teeth whitening treatments.
In-Office Teeth Whitening
Our dentist offers in-office teeth whiteningas an excellent treatment for dull, dingy teeth. In-office whitening may be your best option for a safe, effective procedure. At your first whitening appointment, the dental hygienist cleans your teethbefore the whitening treatment. They place a dam, which provides a barrier between your gums and the whitening paste.
Your dentist applies the whitening gel to your teeth. Alternatively, the dentist may put the bleach in whitening trays and put them on your teeth in the office. In either case, a special light or a laseractivates the bleach in the whitening gel. The dentist shines this light on your teeth, and you wait. Then, the dentist removes the trays or rinses off the remains of the whitening gel. You are ready to go. Your teeth will continue to whiten, but to get the white shade you want, your dentist might have to repeat the procedure at another appointment.
Dentist-Supervised At-Home Treatments
If you need a more economical option, our dentist offers supervised at-home treatments. The dentist gives you a kit for teeth whitening that includes whitening trays and the bleach solutionto use in them. You get complete instructions on how to use them and the opportunity to ask any questions about the process. You take the products home and use them as directed. If you have any problems, your dentist can help you find the solution.
Teeth Whitening Toothpastes and Rinses
You can use teeth whitening toothpastes or rinses to help you get a somewhat whiter smile. These products take longer to work than either in-office treatments or dentist-supervised at-home whitening with bleach. Your dentist can prescribe whitening toothpastes or rinses, or you can purchase them directly at your local store. Whitening stripsare also available from your dentist, your pharmacy or your grocery store. Use these products according to directions. They cannot provide the same level of whitening as your dentist’s treatments, but they can help to some degree.
